Renner made unfortunate headlines early in the New Year, as it was reported the actor was in a Nevada hospital after a devastating snow plowing accident that saw a Snowcat roll over the Marvel star’s leg.
More details of the accident emerged since that initial report, noting that the 51-year-old was helping to clear a stuck car “stranded in the snow” near his home when the event occurred.
Now, Renner is well enough to update the world (albeit briefly).
Renner, who plays ace archer Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the superhero Avengers movies and Disney+ series “Hawkeye,” suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries in a snow vehicle accident in Reno, Nevada, on Sunday, Renner’s rep said Monday.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve” and others, read the statement. “They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Samantha Mast, Renner’s publicist, provided more details on the accident that landed Renner in the hospital, saying the actor was near his Nevada home, clearing driveways prior to the incident.
Renner was moving snow from a private driveway on Sunday, so that his family members could depart his residence after they celebrated the holidays together, his representative added. Members of Renner’s family were with him when the accident occurred.
