The Divine Ashes come from completing Crucible challenges, which you can do by visiting Muspelheim realm. However, even after reaching the end of the game and unlocking the Muspelheim realm, you won’t be able to access the Crucible. These are Surtr’s challenges that you must complete to unlock special rewards and armor pieces, such as divine ash. There are total 15 challenges in this.
To unlock this region, you must find two Muspelheim Seeds. You can find them both at Svartalfheim. One will be inside the legendary chest in Modvitnir’s Rig, and the other will be in Alberich Hollow, directly east of this location. The one in Alberich Hollow will be available later in the game after you’ve unlocked the Draupnir Spear. When you have both parts of the seed, go to any of the Mystic Gateways, and proceed through it to unlock the Crucible.
Interact with any fallen sword in the ground to start challenges. These may take you a while to master, and they get more difficult as you do.
