The Bucknell University community is grieving after the tragic death of one of its students over the weekend. Christian Samay, a 24-year-old senior from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, was found dead on campus at a fraternity house, according to a statement released by University President John Bravman.

The news of Samay’s passing came as a shock to the university community. President Bravman expressed profound sorrow, stating, “This is an unspeakable loss for the Bucknell community, and our hearts go out to Christian’s family and friends.”
Samay’s body was discovered by the University Department of Public Safety at the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house. Authorities responded to the scene just after 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Despite efforts to revive him, Samay was pronounced dead shortly after being found.
While the circumstances surrounding Samay’s death are still unclear, President Bravman assured the community that foul play is not suspected. However, an autopsy is scheduled to be conducted by the Union County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause and manner of death.
According to reports, Samay’s death is not related to an earlier active shooter alert that the university received. The school confirmed that the alert was a hoax originating from Virginia.
