Barbara Walters Husband: Barbara Jill Walters (September 25, 1929 – December 30, 2022) was an American broadcast journalist and television personality. Known for her interviewing ability and popularity with viewers, Walters appeared as a host of numerous television programs, including Today, The View, 20/20, and the ABC Evening News. Walters was a working journalist from 1951 until her retirement in 2015.
Walters was married four times to three different men. Her first husband was Robert Henry Katz, a business executive, and former Navy lieutenant. They married on June 20, 1955, at The Plaza Hotel in New York City.

1. Robert Henry Katz (m. 1955; annulled 1957)
Robert Henry Katz was a former Navy lieutenant and then a famous business executive. We did not the man’s business exploits in detail, but we think we can still say that in the end, it wasn’t his career that made Robert Katz famous. Robert came to the limelight after his marriage with veteran journalist and TV personality, Barbara Walters.
2. Lee Guber (m. 1963; div. 1976)
Lee Guber (November 20, 1920 – March 27, 1988) was an American theater impresario, who produced several Broadway theatre productions and developed a chain of entertainment venues in suburban locations along the East Coast.
He was married three times. His first marriage was to Edna Shanis. The couple had two children together, Zev and Carol.
In December 1963 Guber was married to Barbara Walters, then a reporter for NBC, beginning a marriage that lasted 13 years. Their daughter Jacqueline Dena Guber was born in 1968 and adopted by the couple the same year.
His third marriage was in 1982 to Lois Wyse, with whom he remained married until his death. His stepchildren are Robert Wyse and Katherine Goldman. He has eight grandchildren, one journalist Noah Shachtman.
Guber enjoyed playing squash and tennis, and was described by The New York Times as “an accomplished cook” who learned his culinary skills from James Beard. He was appointed to serve on the New York State Council on the Arts in the mid-1970s.
A resident of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Guber died at age 67 on March 27, 1988, at his home due to brain cancer.
3. Merv Adelson (m. 1981; div. 1984) (m. 1986; div. 1992)
Mervyn Lee Adelson (October 23, 1929 – September 8, 2015) was an American real estate developer and television producer who co-founded Lorimar Television.
Adelson was married and subsequently divorced five times. His first wife was Lori Kaufman with whom he had a daughter and two sons: Ellen Adelson Ross, Andrew Adelson, and Gary Adelson.
His second wife was Gail Kenaston, adopted daughter of silent film star Billie Dove. His third wife was the television journalist Barbara Walters to whom he was married from 1981 until 1984.
They remarried in 1986 and divorced for the second time in 1992. They met on a blind date.His fourth wife was Thea Nesis with whom he had adopted two daughters, Lexi and Ava Nesis. All his marriages ended in divorce.
Adelson died in Los Angeles on September 8, 2015 from cancer, aged 85.
