My (23m) best friend Katie (23f) got diagnosed with cancer 4 months ago and its in a very developed stage. Chances are she won’t live until the end of the year, doctors say.

Few weeks ago she came to me and expressed that she regrets not ever making a move towards me just so she can have the peace of mind that she had even a small term relationship with me. She said she’s always been in love with me and when I got with my current gf she was heartbroken. She said that she wishes she could have that experience even now.

I told her that I’ll consider it since she’s my best friend and I don’t want her to go away without fulfilling a wish like that. And if it’s the best I can do to make her feel better for the upcoming months I might do it.

I discussed it with my gf. For the record I don’t want to dump my gf. She’s an amazing person and our relationship is great. And by fulfilling my friend’s last wish I don’t intend on abandoning my gf. It would mostly be like an act just so I could make my friend happy. My gf was totally against it and at some point she even said she doesn’t give a fuck if Katie is dying, me doing this and her asking this in the first place is disgusting and there’s no way she’ll be ok with it.

After much thought I figured that Katie is not going to be with us for long. I could handle my gfs doubts later on but right now I knew my focus should be Katie since we didn’t have much time together. So I decided to honor her wish.

My gf has been ghosting me for days now and I’m worried. She also exposed me to the rest of my friends and my family and now everyone’s attacking me and Katie. Katie also now blames me because I didn’t figure out a way for everyone to mind their business and now they’re adding extra stress onto her when she’s severly ill.

The Trend is on reddit AITD and AITA for few months and spreading like fire on tiktok. But the question seems to be legitimate. Will you do that? let us know in comments.
